Hosting the Azure IoT Edge Handson-lab

Do you want to host this workshop?
Yes, that is possible at almost any location, including yours.
Due to strong usage of an internet connection during the workshop, we are connecting to the cloud, please take extra notice of the network specifications needed.

What I offer

Hello, I am Sander (short for Alexander) from The Netherlands and I'm a Microsoft Azure MVP.

I have built this workshop because I like to share this technology.
The Handson-labs are based on the original Microsoft documentation but with a unique local feedback flow.
The workshop starts with a short presentation explaining what the IoT Edge is. And attendees then know what to expect during the labs.
After this Azure IoT Edge workshop, attendees have learned how to build their own Azure IoT Edge gateway.
During the workshop, Industrial grade Modbus devices (Advantech Wise IO Modules) are made available.
For those attendees who want to work on the labs afterwards, a free software simulation of the device is available.

What I need from you

To host the hands-on labs, we need the following prerequisites:
* For each attendee a laptop with preinstalled operating system and software as described here. Renting pre-configured laptops is encouraged.
* A network with Internet capabilities for both laptops and Modbus Wise modules (the latter ones must be pingable)
* Wired internet connections for the laptops is preferred
* 2.4 GHz Wifi with just name/password access (without any consent screen), needed by the Modbus Wise modules
* Outbound ports for both MQTT (8883) and AMQP (5671) on the firewall
* An IP range for my (up to ten) Modbus devices to give them all a fixed IP address on the Wifi router is preferred
* Wifi capacity up to three time the amount of attendees (people bring phones etc. which need Wifi too)
* 16:9 HD Beamer with HDMI cable
* Power outlets for all attendees
* For each attendee a separate desk is preferred. Larger is better
* Coffee, everybody needs to stay sharp
* Share this website in advance, the opening page shows the prerequisites needed by the attendees. This saves an hour or more on just setting up laptops. Access to the labs will be provided during the workshop.
